Immunisation Training for Health Professionals – Childhood & Travel Health
This 2-day course will equip newly qualified practice nurses and other primary care nurses and staff on the importance of Immunisation. Each participant will be issued with a certificate on completion of training. This course includes a practical session on injection techniques.
In accordance with the Health Protection Agency’s National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training document (June 2005). Includes update on DH and HPA guidelines for annual flu season.

- Current issues and controversies regarding immunisation

- Storage and handling of vaccines
- Correct administration of vaccines
- Anaphylaxis and other adverse events
- Documentation, record keeping and reporting
- Strategies for improving immunisation rates
