Anaphylaxis is an extreme and severe allergic reaction. The whole body is affected, often within minutes of exposure to the substance which causes the allergic reaction (allergen) but sometimes after hours.
This course will teach you how to recognise and treat Anaphylaxis. The ability to understand allergic reactions and deal with sudden and severe symptoms is an essential part of patient care.
Although the condition is life threatening, deaths are rare. It is estimated there are around 20-30 deaths due to Anaphylaxis occur in the UK each year. With prompt and proper treatment many lives can be saved. This course will give you the skills required to carry out specific life saving treatment. This course follows the Resuscitation Council 2010 guidelines.
You will be allocated 3 CPD points on the completion of the course.
